Cooling Tower Design Calculation Software Average ratng: 9,5/10 8485 votes

Introducing the cooling design calculation in DesignBuilder, which enables to determine the size of the cooling plant required to meet design summer conditions. The major concern during I study the cooling tower theory was how to computerize the cooling tower theory from the calculation of NTU to the cooling tower performance analysis. If you read this book carefully, you can make any cooling tower design programs by yourself.

The cooling tower itself should be modeled as a tank with design data entered through the Tank property grid as shown in Figure 3. • Elevation should be set to the elevation of the bottom of the basin of the cooling tower. • Surface Pressure should be set to 0.0 psig if the cooling tower is open to atmosphere.

If the cooling tower is pressurized or under vacuum, the pressure (or vacuum) exerted on the surface of the liquid should be entered. • Liquid Level should be set to the level of the liquid as measured from the bottom of the tank, typically the basin depth (5 feet in the model shown above) for cooling towers. Click the Penetrations field of the Tank's property grid to open the Tank Penetrations dialog box, shown in Figure 4. This is where you must specify the Penetration Height of each pipe connected to the tank. For example, the return sprayers come in to the top of the cooling tower at 20 feet measured from the bottom of the tower. The outlet pipe to the suction of the pump penetrates the tower at the bottom of the tank, or 0 feet. The default penetration height is 0 feet (or meters if metric units are selected).

There are many design guideline to assist engineers to understand the basic principles of cooling towers. These towers are basically used to remove excess heat that is generated in places such as power stations, chemical plants and even domestically in air conditioning units, and are relatively inexpensive and a dependable means of removing low-grade heat from cooling water and have developed into an important part of a plant (and widely use in various plants). There are different types of cooling towers, air and water flow pattern. Try our Neri calculator tool for free. When you sign up, we offer you a 1-day free trial of 50 calculations. This useful and easy program let you quickly and securely perform calculations for the design of a new cooling tower project, upgrade the performance of an existing counter-flow tower and verify its efficiency and working conditions. It works with all types of cooling towers and with different types of fill (splash or film).

The calculating program, besides covering the whole range of TURBOsplash PAC ® TM fill material, it's also suitable for calculating 'FILM' material channels 12,19 and 27 mm. For your free 1-day trial, click here to go to the calculating program. After using the program, please go to our and send us any questions and/or comments about your experience using the tool.
